Objectives of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution
Expansion and promotion of the influence of Islamic culture in the society and consolidation of the Cultural Revolution and enrichment of the public culture.
Purification of scientific and cultural establishments from materialistic ideas and clearing the country's cultural environment from manifestations of western influence.
Development of universities, schools and cultural and art center in accordance with the righteous Islamic culture, expansion and ever more strengthening of these centers for training of dedicated experts, Islamic scholars , bright and nationalist thinkers, active and skilled manpower, university trainers and teacher with commitment to Islam and country's independence.
Expansion of literacy, promotion of knowledge seeking and thinking, research works and utilizing the achievements and experiences of useful human knowledge to achieve scientific and cultural independence.
Preserving and invigoration and introduction of Islamic and national works.
Publication of the cultural works and ideas of the Islamic Revolution, establishment and consolidation of cultural relations with other countries and Muslim nations in particular.
Responsibilities of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution
Formulating the principles of the cultural policies of the Islamic Republic
of Iran and determining country's educational, scientific,
cultural and social objectives and strategies.
Evaluation and review of the global cultural trends and defining the impact
of important centers and instruments in all areas and
taking appropriate measures.
Reviewing and analysis of cultural, value system and social trends
within the country aimed at determining strength and weakness
and recommending suitable solutions.
Reviewing the development patterns and evaluating the cultural
impact and consequences of policies and plans of country's
political and socio-economic development and giving corrective
recommendations to concerned authorities.
Defining and providing qualitative and quantitative indices for
evaluation of country's economic condition.
Reviewing and evaluation of the cultural educational and research
conditions in the country.
Formulating and approval of country's propagation policies.
Devising and formulation of the basis and criteria for academic
centers compatible with Islamic system and providing the
mechanism for materialization of this objective.
Determining country's elementary and higher educations policies.
Preparation and approval of appropriate programs for enhancement and promotion of religious propagation and supporting of public activities and reconstruction and reinvigoration of mosques.
Preparation and approval of strategic and applicable plans and programs for creating healthy and constructive social interaction and rectification of deviations.
Preparation and approval of policies and plans aimed at promotion
and consolidation of religious, spiritual and cultural
tendencies and believes in the country and promotion the
cultural affairs.
Policy making and approval of appropriate programs for promotion
the spirit of commitment and feeling f cultural responsibility
in the society and encouragement of people for participation
in various cultural, political and revolutionary arenas.
Finding of intellectual and epistemological need within the society
and devising plans for activities of scholars and utilizing
universities and religious seminaries potentials to respond
to these needs.
Preparation and approval of approval of appropriate plans aimed
at identification and revealing of the manifestations,
channels and methods of cultural onslaught by the enemies
on the foundations of Islamic and revolutionary values,
culture an ideas and defining strategies, mechanisms and
measures to repulse such invasion.
Planning and formulating special programs for identification recruiting
and intellectual promotion of the elites and flourishing
the scientific and spiritual potentials of the talented
individuals and utilizing their creativity knowledge and
initiatives.
Preparation and approval of programs and plans for scientific,
educational and research cooperation among universities
and theological schools.
Adopting appropriate policies for correcting the impression and
insight of the society towards the status of the woman
(based on the sublime teachings of Islam) and preparation
of effective programs to consolidate the foundation of
the family and presenting and exemplary of Muslim woman.
Policy making on the content of the text books and determining
the regulations for publication of books and other cultural
and art products.
Policy making and reforming the system of information dissemination
in the country and required supervision mechanism.
Adoption and approval of the cultural principles of country's
tourism and pilgrimage policies.
Adoption and approval of general principles and policies of the
country for promotion of scientific, research and cultural
ties with other nations.
Encountering machinations aimed at cultural distortions against
Islam and the Islamic Republic of Iran at international
level.
Approving the procedures for establishment of cultural, scientific
and research centers, academies, universities and higher
education centers and approving the letter of association
of such institutions and revising the existing letter
of association of these centers if needed.
Approving the general guidelines for appointment of university
professors, lectures and student of universities and cultural,
research centers and schools of the country and appointing
the relevant authorities for their processing.
Policy making for eradication of illiteracy.
Appointment of the relevant authority for preparation and approval
of country's cultural, scientific, and educational and
research programs.
Continuous supervision of the implementation of Supreme Council's resolutions
and assessing their outcomes and supporting their implementation
as well as preventing contradiction in the implementation
of educational, research and educational and cultural
programs within the ministries, organizations and institutions
with country's overall approved cultural policies.
