Iran as an ancient and vast country is a cultural entity with invaluable cultural and intellectual heritage and a source of blessing for its people and the man kind in general. Due to this same characteristic, the main feature of Iran among the countries of the world is its cultural characteristics and culture has always been the cornerstone of Iran's relation with other nations.
In the present world, with respect to cultural diversity of various nations, the Islamic Iran by relying on its genuine and longstanding culture is contributing to the efforts aimed at creating a prosperous world saturated with spiritual humanitarian values.
The Islamic Iran, using its huge cultural wealth, feels duty bound to be presented at international arena and as a prominent cultural member of the world community to play its historical role so that while working towards cultural and spiritual discourse in today world, to introduce the actual realities of Iran to international community.
Upon the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran which was indeed a Cultural Revolution in the present era, the Islamic Iran took up its historical mission to promote and deepen the cultural ties with other nations as well as presenting the world the true Iranian and Islamic culture.
The indefinable interest and enthusiasm of the people of the world and Muslim nations in particular to the magnificent culture of the Islamic Iran and post-revolution developments, inspired a number of cultural establishments in the country to respond to such huge sentiments. Following the increase in the number of the institutions with active role in cultural affairs outside the country and lack of coordination among them, the country's cultural authorities with the objective of centralized management, signal policy making arrangement and coordination of cultural-propagation activities abroad, decide to integrate all the governmental and non-governmental, cultural-propagation organization making outside. The country in a signal establishment and submitted their proposal to the foreign propagation council.
The council upon reviewing the proposal approved the establishment of such all embracing organization. Later, the articles of association of such organization was prepared and approved by the supreme council and in 1994, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution ratified the articles of association of the Islamic culture and communication organization. This organization is a legal and independent entity and officially affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
Objectives of the Islamic Cultures and Communication Organization
Promotion and consolidation of cultural ties with various countries and Islamic nations in particular aimed at cultural exchange and presenting of true culture and civilization of the Islamic Iran.
Regulation and expansion of cultural ties of the Islamic Republic of Iran with outside world and international cultural organization.
Presentation and proper introduction of the prophet's Households in ideological, jurisprudence and moral respect.
Defining the spiritual, social and intellectual developments inspired by the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
Strengthening and deepening the dialog and discussion with religious authorities and institutions of Devine religions.
Responsibilities of the Islamic cultural and communication organization

1- Ahlebeit (Prophet's household) world Assembly
Objectives:
Becoming aware and gathering information and statistics about the legal, political, social and cultural and status of Shiites throughout the world.
Watching anti Shiite movements and crisis and taking stand against such developments.
Looking for Shiite lawyers and making contact with them to utilize their potentials and contacts.
Placing legal complaints in official tribunals to safeguard the violation of the rights of Shiites in various countries.
Providing necessary information and trainings concerning individual and community rights enabling the Shiites to defend their rights through legal channels.
Safeguarding the rights of the Shiites and internation publicity about the rights of Shiites.
Holding of scientific and executive seminar and conferences aimed at coordination the view points and exchange of potentials of Shiite communities in various areas.

2- world Assembly of Islamic Denomination
the world Assembly of proximity of Islamic denominations was established aimed at bringing together and creating understanding among the scholars and thinkers of the Islamic world on economic, jurisprudence, social and issues and coordination and forging of a united front based on the undisputable principles of Islam against the foreign machinations and promotion of the nation of proximity of various Islamic sects among the Muslim masses. This establishment, by conducting various research, educational, cultural, art and propagation activities works towards the above mentioned activities through the organizations affiliated with the Islamic culture and communication organizations.
The most important activities of the Assembly during 1999 include publication of a collection of articles on jurisprudence and theology, holding of conferences on the concerned issues, exchange of cultural delegations and sending of official delegates to Sunni areas and publication so a number of books and publications on Islamic sciences and jurisprudence most prominent among them the Resalat Al-Taghreeb, publication of the second volume of the books Kanz Al-Erfan, Tafseer Al-Ravaee and first volume of the book Al-Ravaha Al-Moshrekoon.
Helping the establishment of proximity communities abroad, mosques, seminaries and cultural centers in Sunni areas are some other activities carried out by the Assembly, coordination of the activities of the Assembly with world Islamic science centers and activities special to the followers of suni sect which are carried out by the Endowment and Charity Affair Organization are of prominent importance and occasional participation and cooperation between the world Assembly of proximity among the Islamic Denomination and world Assembly of the prophet's Household could play a major impaction the promotion of the quality of the activities.
In order to materialize the educational, research and scientific objectives of the Assembly, the University of Islamic Denomination has been established and in recent years through the state funds had been able to provide a portion of its financial resources

Providing guidelines, supervision and support for non-governmental cultural activities outside the country.
Supervising the sound and proper execution of agreements and cultural, art and publicity exchange programs with other nations.
Providing guidelines and moral material assistance to public and Islamic personalities, associations and establishments outside the country and supervising their activities.
Cultural and publicity planning for Iranian and those interested in Islamic and Iranian cultural and civilization outside the country.
Setting criteria and regulations for publication of books, publication and other cultural and propagation works and products to be presented to outside world and supervising the proper handling of such activities.
B) Research and study works:

Selection, education, organization and dispatching of religious instructors and missionaries to foreign capitals.
Holding of conferences, festivals and cultural and publicity exhibitions and public gatherings outside the country.
Expansion and promotion of Persian language and literature and enhancing Persian language departments.
Compiling, translating and publication of suitable books and other literary works to introduce Islamic- Iranian culture, civilization, teachings and sciences and cultural exchange with other nations.
Based on the article 6 of the statute and approval of the supreme leader, the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Islamic Guidance as well as the Islamic propagation organization had to transfer all their powers, responsibilities and human and material and financial resources related to their cultural and publicity activities outside the country to this organization and none of the governmental departments of organization which receive state funds are not independent authorized to carry out cultural and propagation activities outside the country.
* Based on clause 1 of the article 6, all non-governmental institution are required to coordinate the foreign cultural and propagation activities through coordination with this organization.
The second clause of the same article stipulates that:
"the organization is authorized, if needed and upon the approval of the supreme council to transfer some of its executive activities for outside the country to other concerned organizations and institutions.
International activities:
The list of countries which the organization has representative office: Kyrgyzstan, Nakhjavan, Bangladesh, turkey, republic of Azerbaijan, Indian, Pakistan, Lebanon, Ghana, England, Germany, Bosnia, Italy, Russia, Qatar, Armenia, the Philippines, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Syria, Nigeria, united Arab Emirate, Greece, Albania, France, Canada, Spain, Uzbekistan, Uganda, Ethiopia, south Africa, china, Thailand, Srilanka, Yugoslavia, Sweden, Hungary, Bulgaria, Indonesia and Australia.
In other countries, the organization has no representative office and whenever needed, the cultural and religious activities are carried out through the countries embassies.
